NOMONK'S PROTOCOLS

PROTO_ID:
MODALITY:OBJECTIVE:TAGS:REMINDER:

TRA protocol is not a law, but a procedural agreement. It is a set of shared rules that allows different subjects (artists, inhabitants, machines) to interact coherently. If "creativity" is the signal, the protocol is the cable that carries it: without it, the signal is lost in the noise.
Not that we don't like noise! Simply put, the protocol allows us to distinguish the world's noise from the noise we generate ourselves.

DATA PROTOCOL

PROTO_ID: 000-DATA
MODALITY: Individual/Group

OBJECTIVE: Define a quick and professional method for identifying and delivering every completed work.

TAGS: #standard; #taxonomy; #interoperability; #file-integrity;

REMINDER: Why are we doing this? In the world of contemporary art and major institutions, creativity cannot exist without technical rigor. A messy archive is a dead archive. Task DATA PROTOCOL is not bureaucracy: it is the training necessary to transform an artistic interference into a professional, traceable document, ready to be exhibited or published.

EXAMPLE OF PARAMETERSNaming
Every file must be renamed following the international standard:
YYYY-MM-DD_NAME_TITLE_V01
(2026-05-15|NOMONK|PROSCENIUM-SQUARE|_V01).
Clearance Form
For each task, fill out a micro-technical sheet indicating the Status (Completed/In progress), the Evidence identification (file name), and any Debt incurred (local resources used).
Dispatch Logistics
Collectively define how the delivery notification should happen.
(Sending to a specific email, CC, uploading to a dedicated server, or handing in a physical trace?)

LEGACY PROTOCOL

PROTO_ID: 001-LP
MODALITY: Individual/Group

OBJECTIVE: Define the lifecycle of the produced interferences (data, images, sounds) and the territory release protocol. Rejection of cultural extractivism.

TAGS: #ethics; #decolonial-mapping; #digital-repatriation; #right-to-fade;

REMINDER: Why are we doing this? Drawing inspiration from CARFAC protocols for indigenous cultures, we consider Puglia not as a backdrop, but as a living heritage. Local culture (rituals, dialect, craftsmanship) is not "free inspiration," but knowledge that belongs to those who inhabit it. This protocol ensures that your work is a dialogue and not an extraction.

GUIDING QUESTIONSInformed Consent
What procedure will you use for consent in private spaces (courtyards/homes)?
Handover: What will you physically or digitally return to the local community (co-authorship/file-sharing)?
Decommissioning
How will data deletion or deep archiving take place? How will you guarantee the right to be forgotten?

COMMITMENT STATEMENT
"I accept that my digital trace is a temporary interference, and I commit to managing its disappearance or ethical preservation.”

INTERNAL PROTOCOL

PROTO_ID: 002-INT
MODALITY: Individual

OBJECTIVE: Regulate your biological rhythm and the posture of the gaze to ensure sustainable and conscious research.

TAGS: #awareness; #human-sensor; #signal-to-noise; #posture;

REMINDER: The artist is the primary sensor. If the sensor is overloaded or uncalibrated, it produces only background noise. This protocol serves to remind you that your presence is not a 24/7 performance but a negotiation between your body and the territory.

AWARENESS GUIDESThe Rhythm (Recharge Time)
Define a "blackout window." A time during which to suspend data collection. Reality must be lived without the obligation to be documented.
The Gaze (Positioning)
Before every outing, declare your intention. Are you an invisible observer? Are you a guest? Are you a technician? Changing the gaze changes the result.
Care (Maintenance)
Implement ritual actions to preserve your mental health and free time. Taking care of yourself is the necessary action to preserve the health of the entire project and the quality of the produced documents.

FRAME PROTOCOL

PROTO_ID: 003-FRAME
MODALITY: Individual/Group

OBJECTIVE: Synchronise the sensor, the space, the trigger, and the duration.

TAGS: #calibration; #boundary-setting; #event-horizon; #technical-constraint;

REMINDER: Why are we doing this? To avoid or recognize accidental documentation. Every data point must be the result of a pre-defined calibration. This protocol filters the noise by setting the boundaries of the interference

EXAMPLE OF COMPONENTSHOW (Sensor)
Body, Dialogue, LiDAR Scanner, Stopwatch, Portable Microscope, GPS Tracking, Light Meter, Breathing Interval, Electromagnetic Sensor, Taxonomy Notebook.
WHERE (Territory)
Urban variables (city/neighborhood/street/building), A person or a community, Wall posters, The shadow of a bell tower, Asphalt cracks, Thresholds or liminal spaces, Public transport in motion.
WHEN (Trigger)
Astronomical event, Sound threshold, Timer interval, Luminosity shift, Physical contact, Step count, GPS coordinate, Thermal peak, Chromatic match, Motion detection.
HOW LONG (Duration)
Breath cycle, Fixed time, Battery percentage, Memory capacity, Distance covered, Subject exit, Page limit, Light stability, Physical exhaustion, External interruption.

TRAINING PROTOCOL

PROTO_ID: 004-TRN
MODALITY: Individual/Group

OBJECTIVE: Calibrate the body-sensor through physical training and environmental tuning.

TAGS: #contact; #haptic-perception; #proprioception; #interference-pattern;

REMINDER: Why are we doing this? Before using any technical device, the artist must train their own body to perceive the territory. This is not about recording the other, but about preparing the self. We follow this protocol to move from a numb state to a state of heightened tactile awareness.

TRAINING STEPSSYNCHRONIZATION
Aligning the internal rhythm (heartbeat/breath) with the external environment (ambient noise/wind).
RESISTANCE TESTING
Applying pressure to inanimate surfaces (walls, ground) to understand the physical density of the location.
GRAZING (SFIORAMENTO)
Training the fingertips to detect micro-variations in temperature and texture without looking.
WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION
Practicing how the body takes and gives space, shifting the center of gravity to become more or less "present" in the site.
